1. For Players

  • Play fair and respect the rules, referees, and opponents.

  • Work hard for yourself and your team.

  • Accept victory and defeat with dignity.

  • Encourage teammates, don’t criticise.

  • Always respect your coach and officials.
     

2. For Coaches / Managers

  • Place player development, safety, and enjoyment above winning.

  • Be a positive role model in behaviour, speech, and attitude.

  • Respect referees, opponents, and other coaches.

  • Encourage teamwork and fair play.

  • Ensure all players get the chance to learn and participate.
     

3. For Parents / Spectators

  • Support, don’t pressure, young players.

  • Applaud effort, skill, and fair play — not just results.

  • Never shout abuse at referees, players, or other spectators.

  • Stay behind Respect barriers/touchline areas.

  • Remember: children play for fun and development.
     

4. For Match Officials

  • Apply the Laws of the Game fairly and consistently.

  • Communicate respectfully with players, coaches, and spectators.

  • Be confident, approachable, and professional.

  • Support the Respect message at every game.
     

5. For Clubs / Officials

  • Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment.

  • Enforce safeguarding and welfare policies.

  • Lead by example in promoting respect and equality.

  • Ensure club rules are aligned with The FA’s Respect and Safeguarding policies.
